The relationship between horses and humans goes back many thousands of years, and just as horse was our guide and companion from the beginning, they can be so now, if we learn to listen. In this 6 week group, in the company of nature, a small circle of humans and a herd of horses, we gather with the intention to be in relationship and bring healing to our ancestors with the support of our horse kin.
Through guiding you in re-connection with your ancestors and horses, we invite you to experience a deeper sense of belonging, intuition, connection, integration and compassion—for self and others. With gratitude and respect for the land and original ancestral peoples of the land on which we meet, our intention in doing this work together is that it will not only bring healing to us, but to the land, peoples and horses who make this place home.

Your guides in these experiences will be Jackie Ashley and Karla Refoxo.
Karla Refoxo is a certified Ancestral Medicine practitioner with Dr. Daniel Foor, and combines ancestral work with art, dreamtending, spirit tended healing, and the oracular arts. As an artist and intuitive healer, she is anchored in an animist relationship with life. In addition to a lifelong spiritual journey anchored in tradition, she was trained in Plant Spirit Medicine by Eliot Cowan, Spirit Tended Healing with Maris Bergune and Betsy Bergstrom, and Dreamtending with Dr. Stephen Aizenstat. She is an amulet and oracle deck creator and uses these tools as her apothecary. For more info about Karla, see her websites:
Jackie Ashley LPC, BC-DMT, ACSJackie is a life long horse woman who has been integrating horses into her psychotherapy practice since 2002. In the presence of a horse we become embodied and brought into the present moment. From this place access to ones energy, emotions and intuition initiates the natural capacities to heal. For decades she has seen this happen. She is trained in Equuasoma, the integration of Somatic Experiencing and Equine Facilitated psychotherapy. She is a Dance/Movement Therapist, teaches meditation and mindfulness at Naropa University and supervises clinicians working in the field.
