Rachel Seely, MA, LPC is a trauma informed psychotherapist and mindfulness instructor. She offers a somatic approach to EMDR therapy for trauma and grief, and includes Gestalt parts work, body centered or mindfulness exercises, and attention to relationship dynamics. Rachel has learned from personal and professional experience that through the lens of safety and security we can grow, explore, create, empower, and envision ourselves anew again and again. Through groups, individual counseling, or meditation instruction, Rachel welcomes and nurtures the emergent and intrinsic nature of the healing process.
She began her career as a Spiritual Care Provider in hospitals and hospice and draws from her background in MA Buddhist Studies & Clinical Pastoral Counseling, as well as her 25 years of formal meditation training and practice. In 2019, Rachel earned a second MA degree in Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling and began her private practice, Beech Tree Healing, LLC. As part of her clinical training, Rachel completed a 9 month equine therapy practicum serving survivors of sexual violence and chronic mental illness, as well as completed PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) Levels 1 & 2 and EMDR training through the Maiberger Institute.
Since 2022, Rachel has been a Judi’s House Pathfinders Provider supporting children, teens and families through individual and group grief counseling, and she has been adjunct faculty for Naropa University’s School of Graduate Counseling & Psychology since 2015. Currently, Rachel is engaged in certification as an Equine & Body Mind Coach through the Academy of Coaching with Horses and feels inspired to bring this wisdom of deep connection and embodied healing to others through the gift of horses.
