Embodiment is the experience of connecting to all five senses, and occupying the body and mind with intention and awareness. In the presence of a horse, we become embodied and our sense perceptions are activated and enlivened.
Somatic Psychotherapy
Somatic Psychotherapy is a form of therapy that focuses on the body and its sensations, tensions, expressions and how these are witnessed as expressions of our emotions, feelings and thoughts. Through so many amazing discoveries in neuroscience, we now know that our experiences are deeply connected to the nervous system which impacts all our organs, muscles and bones.
Dance and Movement Therapy
Dance/Movement Therapy is an Expressive Arts therapy that focuses on movement and expression through movement for greater integration for our emotional, psychological and physical health. Like other Expressive Arts it is rooted in humanity’s ancient forms of healing.
Supervision / Consultation
I offer clinical supervision to those seeking licensure (LPC) in Colorado as well as obtaining the credential for Board Certified Dance Movement Therapist (BC-DMT). I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) so can advise and consult on the ethical and legal components of our field.
Groups
I offer a variety of groups and workshops where people can interact with horses to access deep healing for sexual trauma, pelvic healing, and to deepen embodiment and connection.
About Jackie Ashley
I grew up in Wisconsin where I spent my youth drawing, dancing and creating a personal relationship with the horses I had the blessings to be around. This was the world I embodied, which helped me create a safe haven from an often chaotic and unpredictable home life.
